Staff from Plowshares Institute conducted workshops on conflict transformation and peace building to introduce and equip approximately 60 people in Cuba to the basic principles of conflict transformation and peace building.  This training was facilitated by a new Spanish translation of the Plowshares Peace Skills curriculum produced in partnership with the American Baptist Office of Reconciliation. These skills will be especially important in addressing conflicts in families and communities as well as enhancing the continued dialogues between Cubans and Cuban-Americans about the relationship between our nations in a post embargo period.  Cuba remains vulnerable to both the US rhetoric about the possible invasion of a rogue nation and the sustained economic threat of an embargo.
